#IAmChallenged - Day 4 (#IAmAliveChallenge, #LukeIsAlive, #MyHiveGoals, & #IAmEngaged)

I am starting this post on Wednesday, but I have something scheduled for this evening, so it may not be finished until the wee hours of the morning (Thursday). I will try to get it finished before I shut down for the day.

I am tired (pun intended) of talking about my sleep woes and have reconsidered the spirit of the #IAmAliveChallenge. This is supposed to be about our victories. Therefore, I will try to focus on my blessings and not my trials. Even though I originally used the explanation of the trial to explain a victory, I have continued to wallow on that trial and need to move on.

With that said, today I am focusing on the blessing that is my daughter.

This photo was taken at her birthday party last year (can you guess how old she is?). She is an avid reader and chose to have a costume party where everyone dressed up as a character from a book or movie. Her character was Alice (one of her favorites) from the most recent rendition of that story (notice there is no pinafore). She has a heart for kids (she serves as the Associate Children's Pastor at her church and has served as a missionary to Honduras as an English teacher in a Christian School) and a love for helping people (she is currently interning with a program to help with counseling others). She also is an English Tutor at the local college. I am so proud of her. She helps keep me grounded and walking in victory every day. I thank God for her continually.

I got a bump today due to winning the drawing for #LukeIsAlive (once again, thanks @flaxz). I actually split the prize between CTP and HIVE and sent most of the HIVE to @familyhistory to set up the Family History community (which has now been created - now I just need to figure out how to use it). :)

@willymac - "A CONVERSATION WITH MY MOTHER" is a transcript from a conversation between the author and his mother about her past. This kind of information is irreplaceable. The only thing better is to hear the actual recording...especially if it is your ancestor. Take some time to sit down with your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and anyone else who might have stories about them and capture those priceless memories before they are gone forever. Your family will love it.

@winstonalden - "American Civil War Letters - January 31, 1864 - A Psalm, Generosity in Prayer, a Hard Death, the Price of Wood" is the contents of a letter written by the author's great-great-great-grandmother to her husband during the American Civil War. The author has a whole series posts of similar letters. This is another example of the types of family history artifacts that might be in our family that should be shared and passed down.

@lydon.sipe - "So Our Kids Will Know Our Story" expresses the author's reasoning for capturing his story in a short and simple post. There are so many people out there with similar experiences.

@s0u1 - "William Hackett Victoria Cross Recipient" is the story of a hero in the author's family. Who in your family has a story that is worthy to tell?

@slackerman - "A Viral Mailer's Best Friend +IAEC22" is a review of Viral Mail Profits. Sounds useful. Hey...don't I have an account there that I am not using? I think I need to blow the dust off of it and put it back to use. Excuse me while I go look.
