Upper Old Danube - Floridsdorf - Vienna

This was a week ago - since then, mostly rain, much cooler and not much sun. But it was nice while it lasted.

A nice warm day in my neighborhood of Floridsdorf - on the Alte Donau (Old Danube), which is a separate side arm of the Danube, connected underground to the river, so the water is slow moving and much warmer than the main river, which is rather muddy/greyish brown, very wide and fast flowing. But the Old Danube is a recreational paradise, and indeed blue, as the old sentimental songs claim about the Danube.

But romance is spelled with capital letters in my home town of Vienna:

But back to the reality of my little outing in my neighborhood - which is on the opposite end of what you see in the video from Schönbrunn. We are given to assigning fancy names to some areas, the two districts on the north side of the Danube were referred to as "Transdanubia" in colloquial talk, but then it became sort of official; as is the case with "Copa Cagrana" the party mile just a ways east from where I was that day.
The temperature was a sunny 28°C, a summer-like day just before Mothers Day.
A great break from the Corona restrictions we had until now.
