Interesting blog - I would not have wanted to miss this, if I knew about it. You mention'freshly grated young buko (coconut)' and I can imagine what this would taste like, because the flesh of young coconut is soft. What we get here in the stores is 'Drink Coconut', with a straw, and that is supposed to be young coconut, but isn't, the flesh is already ripe. Cannot find that one on line except in a Hungarian Spar Store Drink and Eat Coconut - but it isn't really a young coconut as I had seen on some Asian videos.

One thing I like to use as a spice on my food, such as grilled meat, is 'Sweet Chilisauce' I found at Spar, big 700ml bottle. I certainly would have enjoyed that event!
