OK, so I am not up to speed on Internet slang, I guess if you use the slang term copypasta often enough, it gets to be a "real word".

Sad really how the English language gets mangled. Pretty soon "lol" is going to be a real word too.
For the rest of your comment, I think this will be settled eventually. The only place you can see more than just a line of text (with a link to the post) on a cross-post is on SteemPeak. On there, the original post is attached to it. But all you see on Steemit is a text and a link. So on Steemit you can't say it is "copypasta", its not even "copypastry" - and SteemPeak should not concern you, nor Facebook, Twitter or anywhere else the post is shared and may show some of it, like a line of text and a image - in fact, I don't bother sharing anything on twitter for example, unless it has a image card (which Steemit posts have). I personally don't care about the "rewards" (I could use my time in much more rewarding ways than posting on Steemit) - except for earning SP, and from time to time I transfer Steem to SP so my upvotes are worth at least something to deserving posts.
