FOO FIGHTERS
Manipulating my photo of a vintage fighter plane in front of the Royal Canadian Legion in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada (where I used to live for over 4 decades): Permanently grounded.
the shot I used for the digital art was actually from this angle, see below:
the camera used was at that time newly purchased, a Samsung Pro 815,
which I am still using sometimes
Too many steps to explain, what I do remember doing: one picture was a macro of some water standing in a tree trunk. I cranked it through filters, spheres distortion, gradient, contrasts and curves, then added different lens flares and cloned in the fighter plane.
The nominal print size of the original large file is 40 x 30 inches,
about 102 x 76 cm - date 2007
The original photos were taken in October 2006 on a bright sunny day, unusual for that time of year.
I posted it on DeviantArt many moons ago and you can check it out HERE - Prints available
yes, that is me, back in around 1962-63
Maybe having been in the Air Force in Austria I especially liked fighter planes. There are quite a few around preserved on the Canadian Prairies especially, many small towns have some - heck, one town in the province is called Vulcan, and they have a replica of Star Trek's USS Enterprise! Whereas the town of Vegreville supposedly has the Worlds Largest Easter Egg - but I digress, it has nothing to do with Foo Fighters, actually, not much with my plane, unless it did encounter some in WWII.
But that is what is a common sight in the "Wild West", both in Canada and the USA, all kinds of displays like that. No Eiffel tower or anything like that. The West is relatively young and apart from Nature, there are not many big tourist attractions. But whatever they do display, it is usually called "the worlds largest", or something like that.
