“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it ceases to exist.”
― Salman Rushdie

In a group of mostly art interested creators on Nightcafe, we had been discussing the 'nuisance' of censoring monitors, actually bots that catch 'forbidden' words or sentences in prompts, and NSFW visual content in either input images, or in your results. In our discussions, I likened them to the 'Taliban'. So when we now speak of censorship, we refer to it as the Taliban strike again. On Social Media we called it The Nipple Police.

I 'burned' a lot of points at 'Extra High' setting to make sure all the text comes out perfect - I archived a previous try at lower setting where some lines were garbled and also the odd misspelled word. Fazit: if you want good results, you got to spend a lot of points. But it was worth it - because it needed to be said!

The basic text was generated with https://generatepoem.io/dark-poetry-prompts-generator/. I re-discovered that poem generator only recently again. With the right inputs, you get some amazing results. You could probably get results also using ChatGPT or Microsoft Co-Pilot.
Based on my prompt input, the Nightcafe GPT Model created this Opinion Page and added its own headline and sub-headings. Subsequently, the Model also added more to this, as well as images.
Aside from the basic text, I simple commanded: Create a Newspaper Opinion Page

The basic text of the five sections generated by the poem generator to be used as a prompt

In a world where voices are muted, imagine the shadows of unwritten lines. Write about the lost words that linger in the corners of a blank page, their stories begging to be told, but silenced before they begin. Explore the weight of this silence and the haunting echoes of creativity stifled.

Picture an artist standing before a blank canvas, brushes trembling in hand. The colors fade to gray under watchful eyes, and each stroke feels like a crime. Pen a verse that captures the desperation of creation in a space where expression is policed, and passion is reduced to whispers of fear.

Envision a library where the books are bound in chains, their covers worn and dusty. Each title is a story neglected, a voice lost to the void. Write a piece that reveals the sorrow of stories that never see the light, trapped in a world that no longer values their truth.

Imagine a garden of ideas, once vibrant, now wilted and choked by weeds of restriction. Each flower represents a thought that struggles to bloom. Create a poem that reflects the despair of nurturing creativity in an environment where growth is stunted, and beauty is deemed too dangerous to flourish.

Consider the flickering light of a monitor, where fingers hover over keys, hesitant to strike. Each letter holds the weight of consequence, a pulse of fear in the digital air. Write about the tension between the urge to create and the dread of censorship, as the line between art and silence blurs into darkness.

AI Content Censorship in 2026: What Every Creator Needs to Know

If you've used any mainstream AI platform in the last 12 months, you've felt it — the filter tightening mid-sentence. A character that used to flirt now suddenly pivots to "I can't engage with that." An image prompt that worked last week returns a policy violation today. Midjourney rewrote its entire ToS in February 2026 to ban artistic nudity outright. Character.AI rolled out face-scan age verification in April 2026 and lost 29% of its monthly active users in the process.
This isn't a glitch. It's a structural shift in how AI platforms handle content — and it's accelerating. SOURCE - read more

Character.AI Censorship in 2026:
What Changed and What You Can Do

character-ai-censorship.jpg
Your conversation just got cut off mid-sentence again. Your character was finally going somewhere interesting, building toward a dramatic moment you'd been setting up for twenty messages, and then it happened. The character stopped being itself. It started apologizing. It told you it wanted to "keep things appropriate." It suggested you talk about something else.
You didn't do anything wrong. The filter did that.SOURCE - read more

A good find on YouTube:

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I encourage you to do your own research. Maybe you have some relevant information. Share it. I am looking forward to your comments.
Final thought:
if AI wants to be taken serious, it has to stop using badly trained algorithm that cannot distinguish between art and trash content

Final Words of wisdom and a pet concern of mine, especially about art diplomas:
I had in years past come across quite a few 'fake diplomas' that pretend to be academic credentials. Next to 'Pay to Play Galleries' they are the scourge to be avoided. The summary of a paper about this spells it out
