La Navidad es una época del año muy significativa y hermosa, en la que compartimos muchos sentimientos y emociones. Durante estos días, nuestros corazones se llenan de paz y amor, una extraña sensación que muchas personas experimentan cuando llega, por lo que la disfruto al máximo con mi familia. Debo decirles que una de las cosas que nunca dejo de lado es el aspecto religioso, ya que siempre debemos recordar el nacimiento de Jesús. Para mí, esta época del año es sinónimo de hermandad y buenas vibraciones.
Así que esta es una de las cosas que espero con ilusión cada año: las misas de aguinaldo. Del 16 al 24 de diciembre, nos levantamos temprano (5:00 am) para celebrar la Santa Misa; estas nueve misas nos preparan para el nacimiento del Niño Jesús. Estas celebraciones aquí en Venezuela son muy alegres, amenizadas por el canto de villancicos y aguinaldos (canciones tradicionales venezolanas de Navidad) acompañados por el sonido de tambores, cuatros, maracas y furruco. Es un momento especial para compartir en comunidad, lleno de esperanza y gratitud. Aquí, en mi comunidad, se celebran en diferentes lugares, a los que asistimos en familia. Después de la misa, se prepara un desayuno para compartir con los asistentes.
Por eso me encanta la Navidad, porque durante esta época del año mi corazón está más agradecido a Dios, compartiendo con mi familia; me doy cuenta de lo afortunada que soy por tenerlos a todos juntos y por tener el tiempo y la salud para compartir; las cosas materiales o la cantidad de regalos que recibo ya ni siquiera importan; al final, lo que realmente importa son estas cosas que tienen valor y por las que debemos estar agradecidos.
Christmas is a very meaningful and beautiful time of year, when we share many feelings and emotions. During this time, our hearts are filled with peace and love, a strange feeling that many people experience when it arrives, so I enjoy it to the fullest with my family. I must tell you that one of the things I never leave out is the religious aspect, since we must always remember the birth of Jesus. For me, this time of year is synonymous with brotherhood and good vibes.
So this is one of the things I look forward to every year: the Christmas Masses. From December 16 to 24, we get up early (5:00 a.m.) to celebrate Holy Mass; these nine Masses prepare us for the birth of the Baby Jesus. These celebrations here in Venezuela are very joyful, enlivened by the singing of Christmas carols and aguinaldos (traditional Venezuelan Christmas songs) accompanied by the sound of drums, cuatros, maracas, and furruco. It is a special time to share in community, filled with hope and gratitude. Here, in my community, they are celebrated in different places, which we attend as a family. After Mass, breakfast is prepared to share with those in attendance.
That's why I love Christmas, because during this time of year my heart is more grateful to God, sharing with my family; I realize how fortunate I am to have them all together and to have the time and health to share; material things or the number of gifts I receive don't even matter anymore; in the end, what really matters are these things that have value and for which we should be grateful.
