I was supporting what the EiP stands for (downvotes, 50/50), even before the EiP was a thing. I was hugely and actively promoting the EiP, even when that meant being attacked by people who thought I was a greedy sack.

It's always easy to point the finger on services, instead of the users who abuse them. I'm already blacklisting left and right and this author is next. And I am working on a system for Smartsteem, which solves this problem, but it's not ready yet.

You understand perfectly well that vote selling is just a laundering service for self voting. Self voting exclusively takes 100% of the value of a stakeholders own votes and returns it to him. Vote selling that's 100% of the value of a stakeholders votes and distributes it between the stakeholder, laundering service provider and vote buyer, the latter two even less deserving than the first.

Let me get this straight: you were self-voting yourself and puppet accounts for years before the EiP and then stopped once the HF was here. But people selling their votes to people who want to be seen and buy promotion is somehow the absolute worse? You're completely missing the fact, that buying votes is primarily done for promotion reasons, i.e. having more eyeballs on your post. So in that sense, it's completely different to self-voting puppet shit-posts. (Yes, I've seen your traf comments)

You might be able to get away with abusing the system via self-voting on your puppets accounts and changing the behaviour once the HF went live, giving you seemingly a clean slate. However, changing a complete business model is much more complex and in the case of Smartsteem, takes much longer. Because it is simply not "just a bid-bot".

How long do you think it'll take for someone to convince Steemit Inc. that perhaps abstaining from witness voting and surrendering dictatorial power over the composition of top 20 witnesses to an anonymous 3rd party isn't really doing anyone any favors?

I've always been speaking out against paid witness voting, as it's undermining the security of the chain. If you believe that upvote-selling is as bad, you gotta' think again.

Honestly @trafalgar, I'm absolutely disappointed on your lack of awareness. When people were attacking you for self-voting, I saw the problem but I was still trying to argue, that at least you had your nearly 1 Million SP investment still not powered down. But of course, you don't know that. Instead, you're making up conspiracy theories that I somehow sabotaged the HF or didn't want it to happen? Are you out of your damn mind? Didn't you read any of my posts or at least those I linked above?

And I knew full well that it had the potential to destroy what I built up with Smartsteem, but it didn't matter. I was in favour of the EiP, even if that meant to close shop with Smartsteem. (Smartsteem's complete suit of promotion services)

Now, let me set a few things straight:

I've got a very clear moral compass and my work & decisions as a consensus witness always came first. Again, I was in favor of the EiP, even if it was potentially destructive to what I built. I am redoing Smartsteem's promotion services completely and once it's relaunched and if it's not doing any good, I will close it down. (srsly) I don't have any problem with that. I have a much bigger problem with closing something down, which is broken, without at least trying to fix it. And fixing something usually isn't done overnight, as in changing self-voting patters into curation.
