I have heard people yell "Amen" in church when they agree with something the Pastor says or with a prayer someone is praying. We are kind of going to talk about the other side of that coin today.
In the garden, the serpent said, "Did God not say you could eat of any of the trees?" So he's questioning God and what He had said.
The woman said, "Yes, we can eat of anything except from the tree in the middle of the garden, and we shouldn't even touch it."
Well.
One good twist deserves another.
Satan, also known as (the) adversary, that's what the word means, always twists the words of God a little bit. That it how he leads you off the path.
Eesha (the) woman agrees with Satan in that she exaggerates what God had said. She also leaves out a portion of what God said, which is, "The day that you eat of it, you will surely die."
Push comes to shove, and a thought becomes imagining doing it, and that becomes doing it, which was to eat the fruit.
Now to the point. Let's call all of the above "An agreement". The adversary basically asked her to come play with him and his dialogue. He questioned what God said, she exaggerated. She agreed to talk to him, doing things that agree with the way the evil one does them.
Not too long after the Ten Commandments were given, which is where we are in our Hebrew series, Joshua had someone doubting plans for a battle, and Joshua asked God to lift the veil and show the doubter what the actual situation was like.
As that passage says, we are surrounded by angels and also unclean spirits and even demons. We are going to talk a little bit about how these demons can gain access to your mind and even your soul. Then what happens? If we "agree" with something they show us or propose to us, they gain a strong hold.
People choose to ignore this part of spirituality in Christianity and Judaism, but it is definitely a part of our belief system because the religious leaders accused our king, Yeshua, of having a demon when he did his miracles. Also, a lot of his miracles were related to casting out demons from people, as well as unclean spirits.
Just as Christ, or Mashiach, has followers, so do certain demons and the satan himself. Let's say those followers are out just having fun, maybe creating music to put on YouTube or to publish on Spotify.
If that content mocks God or glorifies the demonic realm and its practices, and you dance to it, sing with it What you are doing is agreeing with the sentiments or plans of an evil entity.
I'm not going to tell you that you are 100% sure to get a demon or unclean spirit in your soul, your spirit, or your body. It is just one agreement, but a record of that agreement has been created. It goes with the others in the pile of agreements that you have made to unholy things.
"I'm not worried about any of that because God loves me and He will protect me." you might say.
That is a correct concept, but when an evil entity is asking permission to enter in or do something to you, God says, "You can't do that, he's mine."
But the evil entity goes looking for one of these permission slips that you have given him. He presents it to God and says, "I have permission, see? This is what he wants."
God gives us free will and he respects our ability to choose freely, even if it was unwittingly.
You have free will. Just be careful how you use it. And if you think this is all poppycock, just go to the Gospels and see all the times people were healed or had demons cast out of them. What did Yeshua say to them?
"Go, and sin no more."
I believe in one case, he said, "Stop sinning, or something worse will happen to you."
And what is sin after all? It is agreeing with something other than the laws of God! Then going out and doing those other things.
God's plan is free will. You have that. You can pray if you want, or you can go into a Masonic Lodge and swear blood oaths. God will not stop you. But some "bad" actions have consequences, even opening up your soul to invasion.
God does not want any pull-string dolls that say, "I love you Daddy" in His Kingdom.
self reflection and repentance is one answer to find and get rid of those permission slips but it is not easy. Best to never give permission to the wrong entities.
