Lockdown day #21- Logo Design process " Grill Stop " Start to finish "

Its lockdown day 21 here in Nepal. I got a project from one of my client to design a logo for his restaurant business named " Grill Stop ". This blog is about the complete logo design process from start to end.

Client brief for the logo.
Name - "Grill Stop"
cuisines - Steakhouse, Bar, Barbecue, stick food
Features- Seating, Takeout, Outdoor Seating, Table Service
logotype - Modern

The client didn't give any references so I was free to explore and use different ideas on my own.

First things first.
while designing a logo I always start with research according to the brief provided. First, considering the name and nature of the business I took the words associated with the logo.

Grill - BBQ Grill, Fire, Flame
Stop - Red, stop sign, signage board

After mind mapping I start to sketch the initial ideas that hit my mind. Here are the initial sketch ideas that I liked and I choose the one that fits the most.

After a few ideas revision, I finally went with this logo and after client approval, I proceed towards the colors for the logo.

For this particular design I choose Red, Black and yellow which matches the vibe of the name of the restaurant. As BBQ is red and hot I choose those colors that fit for the logo.

Also added the slogan text after the clients request

Now its the time to do some mockup and see how does the logo fit in other print stuff and other merch for the business. usually I use mockup to check the usability of the logo and also it helps the client to visualize their brand in reality. Mockups also impress your client somehow.
