About the farmers, yeah I have been tracking a number of the protests. One thing is, those farmers cannot keep going forever - sooner or later they will run out of money and that is what I think the powers at be are waiting for - unless their plan is to use the fact store shelves are empty as a way to demonise farmers and then seize the means of production - I do hope it is what it looks like though. I really do - and that the farmers are making a stand. People only wake up these days when they go to the grocery store and find no food on there.
By the way, New Zealand is a farming national and we had protests here - although no one in NZ probably knows about them - they are demonised in the media because they don't want to pay a new tax to a bunch of banks: https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/new-zealand-farmers-set-right-wing-protest-vote-over-climate-change-policies-2023-09-27/
I will tell you - you hear nothing about them at all. The media, apart from calling them "right wing" go for mostly option 2, just like the vax protests, and that is say nothing at all.
About "The solution to the complex problems we are being subjected to with malice aforethought is to seize the means of production suitable to our personal circumstances that create the goods and services producing the blessings of civilisation," I agree 100% of course. This is what I am hoping for in the future - in terms of being done at a massive scale - with AI, you can have machines that can help grow us food - one day our living systems will be blended with nature, that is, instead of random plants, we will have food growing around us cultivated in smaller spaces by AI.
Thanks!
