I had to look the farter up - his name is Le Pétomane - lol, that is really weird. Maybe it's just something in French culture, I guess - but that flute player still seems way over the top. I think it would be in any decade, but who knows. You are right about the good times before the collapse - of course, this is just the ostrich with its head in the sand effect - at least for the normal population - it is falling apart because of the ultra "don't care about anything" attitude. It is not a mistake that everyone was dancing before the great depression when they should have been watching their financiers. Again, it's the old con game - shear the sheep every thirty years.

About the mammoths - there are a lot of things, as you mention, that point to a "sudden event" that disabled and killed a lot of animal life. One thing from the doco on the pole shift by NOVA - they talk about the magnetic particles in the clay as it set, or even in lava flow - showing that the poles shifted in a matter of a day or so perhaps - regarding pole shifts. But I don't think they saw any sudden movement in the lava flow - I could be wrong - but if there was a major sudden shift, that could throw an elephant a hundred yards in a moment, then you would see that in the same lava flow - I would assume.

However, I have not seen the doco in twenty years or something - not fully. I think the cataclysm might be a cascade from a pole shift - like maybe there are things regarding the core we don't know about, which could happen later - however, most likely there is some type of event X we just don't know about. I think the main problem that humanity will encounter with a pole shift is changes to weather patterns, food migration, and changes of course to climate and jet streams, etc., fishing - it will lead to starvation and rebirth (As Robert Schoch states, regarding the plasma storms that would be possible, although from memory he does not talk about the pole shift). There will be new wars over resources - this is the reason why I think you see so many mass migrations of people - when there is a shift, they have to move because their food patterns are not the same - again, I don't know as much about this as you do. I'm just thinking about things I have heard. But yeah, some type of event X - could be anything.

About the Mahabharata - I remember what they were saying about the bombs. That was very interesting - it sounds like a mushroom cloud that is being described. But you seem to know more about it than I do. Of course, a massive explosion, even with traditional means, gunpowder, can seem nuclear, if there is enough that goes off - and maybe to ancient people it looked like that. Either that or advanced tech.
