And the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Go from here and turn eastward and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan [River]. You shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to sustain you there [with food].” So he went and did in accordance with the word of the Lord; he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he would drink from the brook.
1 Kings 17:2-6
God is our provider. He will never leave his children helpless. He will never let his children suffer from hunger.
The same God who rained manna in the desert is the same one who ordered the crows to feed the prophet Elijah in the stream.
It can be unpleasant to be fed by birds of prey, but God in your sovereignty will let you know that he is your provider.
Why some crows?
The raven is an animal of rapacity, but God uses the vile and despised to shame the wise and understanding.
God is the creator of everything, including what in our opinion is unpleasant.
Then, when you see a crow, think about what God used to feed a Prophet.
When you see a crow declares:
The provision comes.
