We stopped to the east of Khibiny, on the approach to the sacred lake called Seydozero. The next day the weather turned bad and we had to return to the city, but it was still a wonderful little adventure. I'll come back here more than once in the future.
Traveling can bring you more pleasure and revelations than achieving the end goal. That's what happened this time. Looking at the opposite shore, resting on the reliable back of the mountains, you lose in this space.
Everything changes places here. Endless forests turn into a green, slightly swaying ocean, lakes look like islands on the surface of the forest. And mountains, mountains will be mountains always and everywhere. And you feel so small, unimportant, but at the same time able to focus on yourself, because nothing distracts you.
And also you have time to look around. Here time is not in a hurry and does not rush anyone. This canvas looks a bit monotonous, but one has only to understand that everything is relative and look under the cover of tree crowns and the world changes again.
This forest landscape surrounded by mountains holds millions of other, no less diverse landscapes. And you're already a giant in them. But for smaller organisms, these unique islands of various plants are also something unique and fascinating, as is the view of the mountains and forest for humans.
Some kind of magical effect when you look a little deeper and see that there is not a single repeating element in such a huge space, every corner of this forest is different from another. Chaotic order and beauty.
This forest next to the mountain also looks like a small beautiful corner on the scale of the entire mountain range, and all these mountains are just a small corner in the size of our planet. Like our entire planet in the context of the solar system and beyond, to infinity.
