Hey Steemian viewer!
I'm gonna start off addressing that title - which is to say, I'm seriously not good at keeping these things. I mean, I'll try, seeing as this is a pretty good place to lay down my thoughts (and maybe see whether half my ideas are actually any good). But don't be disappointed if I stop posting! Because... Yeah, I kind of half-expected it from the start. Regardless, while I'm here I want to tell you who I am.
I'll start off with something I learned literally today. I kinda think it's great to try and sit back at the end of the day and say something you learned - like I'm about to do (only it's not the end of the day yet) - but I also don't think that there has to be something you learn every day. I imagine if you can't think of something after a few minutes, whatever fun little energy you get from finding that thing isn't worth the time you'll spend thinking.
Ahh! I'm already off topic and I've barely begun! Well. At least you'll know what to expect in the future, I guess. Anyway, today I found out that Styrofoam is a whole lot easier to throw away if you just tear it into little chunks. It's kinda dumb how long it took me to figure out, considering I've been living on my own for like, four months. But hey! I'm sure it's taken others longer!
I don't really want to drag this post on too long, since I don't want to give the impression that all my posts will be super long and awesome (hah, if you consider this awesome? I mean? You can stick around? It's up to you). But at the same time, there's so much more I could say. Like, I could go on about my (childish) stuffy collection. It's to the point where I actually started making a doll, and my friend commented that it would only increase the collection size by like, 2%.
Luckily, I'm only emotionally attached to... oh, well, most of them. But I'm trying to downsize, promise! I mean, it's not my New Year's resolution or anything, but...
There's something to talk about, actually. I don't mean to be a pessimist, but this year, I didn't make a resolution - not because I didn't have one (if I made one, it would probably be to brush my hair and teeth more often, haha). I didn't make a resolution because I feel like it's more of a way to fail than anything.
As a kid, I made the same resolution for like, six or seven years in a row before giving up with it - and that was to stop biting my nails. I'm pretty sure I only did/do it because of being anxious (which is different from saying I have anxiety, because I don't believe I have that), because eventually I mostly just stopped on my own.
Anyway... I dunno when to stop this, or when my word count will run out, but I'll try to end with one more slightly happier note (because who likes ending with downer thoughts in something that isn't a personal journal or diary, right? Er- I sure hope that's a normal thing to do suddenly).
So! The main thing I want this blog to be about (not necessarily going to happen, of course) is my artwork. I'm not like, a professional artist or anything, but I do like drawing on occasion, and I'm hoping to post things like my comics here - maybe a few weekly drawing-time-lapse things, if I can ever clear off my desk (haha, it's still covered in materials from making that doll). I used to do like... digital art stuff, but I recently found that I really enjoy drawing on paper a little more. I mean, I miss the whole ctr+z thing for undoing dumb moves, but I also miss things like regular old erasers when doing digital stuff.
In the future, if I actually manage to keep stuff going on here, I'll probably be adding a tag to the comics and/or character drawings to make them exclusively searchable - it'd be 'outlawsforjustice' seeing as the comic name is gonna be Outlaws for Justice. Uh.. Just hoping nobody else already has something like that, ha.
Well, I think that's good enough for today. This'll probably be one of my longest posts, but I hope you didn't mind reading it (or that maybe you found the Styrofoam thing actually useful? I mean, I did).
Have a great day, Steemian!
EDIT: I realize after a few comments that most people probably think of Styrofoam as that stuff that comes with packaged boxed things - this blog's referral to them is more in terms of like, takeout containers. Sorry for the confusion!
