Jerome Powell was asked about the report from the BIS and was indirectly asked about the Credit Suisse report. Essentially noting that year end problems and the Repo issues in general would compound and quite frankly, haven’t been addressed. He brushed these off very rapidly and went back to read off his paper. The Fed is incapable of telling the truth. 2018: We’re going to raise rates more and more. 2019: We’re cutting rates and will not increase rates even when inflation goes much, much higher. How do you anticipate what they’re going to actually do?! This is the problem with trying to manage markets or an economy from a central source. It simply doesn’t function as intended.
