April 23, 2023, when my cat Riri/Manny went missing. I can still clearly remember this day. When I woke up around lunchtime, my first question to my family member was, "Where is Riri?". And they answered that they haven't seen the cat.
At that very moment, I started panicking. It wasn't the usual scenario in our household because every time we would wake up, the cat was lying in the living room. And so, I tried to wait till the sun sets before declaring that our cat was already missing.
We didn't stop looking for our cat since that day and up to the morning after. But no marks were seen yet feedback from our neighbors.
Ever since that day, his things were left untouched and were left hanging around.
This was his litter box where he would pee or poo. I placed it at the back of the mirror for his privacy and not to be an eyesore to us. I remember that the day before he went missing, I even cleaned and refilled his litter box with sand. And he was never able to use it. It was just yesterday when I finally let go of it and cleaned up his litter box and gave away the litter sand to my Aunt.
This was the dewormer that my cousin gave me him. He was only dewormed once and we didn't get the chance to deworm him for the second time since he went missing already. Now, this is still with me and I don't know if I'll ever give this to someone.
Riri's leash. This was a hand-me-down from our previous cats. Riri was left unleashed most of the time because I want him to be comfortable roaming around the house. There were only times when we would put him on a leash because he would wander too far from the house sometimes.
A little background about Riri/Manny
Riri as I would call him but my family members would also call him Manny. He was named after my Uncle who passed away last year month of November.
We got Riri also last year month of December. He was given to us by my cousin who now resides in Cavite. Only almost one month apart since my Uncle passed away, he was given to us. And so to always remember my Uncle, he was named after him.
Riri was a very chill cat. Very low maintenance and doesn't need so much attention. But he was given so much love by our family. He was a Persian-siamese mixed.
Up to this day, even though the months passed by already, I am still hoping for him to come back.
Some of my friends told me that he might just be wandering around and looking for a girlfriend but since the days have already passed by, I know for sure that he was not lost yet he was stolen. I just wish that he is being taken care of and given the love that he deserves.
