In my defense, I had to do it for him. His fur may look healthy but underneath it is full of ticks and fleas.
Do you guys remember what I said about Micky's condition in his first home? If not, I would reiterate it. He came from a breeder,when he wasn't sold, they probably didn't care about taking care of him. His condition when he came to us was poor and he was so dirty and with eye problems. I also noticed that he had ticks and fleas when he arrived at us. There was also the presence of tick eggs in his coat.
Days passed when I thought that his tick and flea problems would be resolved by bathing him but it didn't. I even gave him a tick and flea tablet but for some reason, it also didn't work out. Maybe deworming him after two days of giving him the tablet made the drug's effect slow or made it ineffective.
The problem got worse and I was already stressed to see his condition. I made a move and brought him to the nearest grooming center. I wanted to ask for the shortest haircut they'd give to him since I had no idea what I wanted for him at that time, fortunately, the groomers were so good and gave him the best haircut.
This was his fur before. Do you think that his haircut now suits him? Because for me, I was really satisfied with it. Also, it made him really cute! My family members also like his new haircut.
All in all, I only paid 500 pesos for his grooming session. It includes nail trimming, ear cleaning, haircut, and bath. They also used medicated shampoo to help with his problem. Right now, almost all of his ticks are gone and when we see one, we just manually remove it and dip it in a bleach solution.
It is important to give our pets the best that we can give. If there's a problem, we should resolve it right away so that it won't become a big issue one day. At the end of the day, it is we who choose to take them into our responsibility. That's why if you are planning to get a pet, you should really think of it properly because expenses are no joke.
On the brighter side, all of our sacrifices to give our pets the best life will be rewarded with lots of kisses and cuddles from them. And surely, they will be as loyal as we are to them.
