Hive has some real technical advantages over the competition. To an extent, so does DeSo.
DeSo is really just a Postgres database when you boil it down. I haven’t done extensive research but I have my doubts about the security and protect as a “blockchain” with the way it works. The fact that every app uses one key is also a disaster waiting to happen.
DeSo has creator coins which is a really cool idea, but likely illegal securities in the US.
Heck, on DeSo there are fake accounts that are on track to be rich waiting for the celebrity to claim them.
Another issue I have with DeSo, their team took like 80% of the supply and the lucky people in the inner circle made a killing creating these accounts as every sucker who buys into these celebrity place holder accounts make these other people rich who got in for next to nothing.
I couldn’t in my right mind invest a cent in DeSo especially how protected they are of their free wealth.
Other communities could grow to that point too, but there seems to be a lot of resistance, especially with the fall in Hive value.
The fall in Hive value is a very recent thing and it is still way higher than when it was twelve cents not long ago.
We need more people talking about it, more influential people. There is a factor called "Social Proof" that adds fuel to the network effect.
This has been done quite a few times already, we have had some big names on Hive or talk about Hive. The problem is they rarely actually contribute back, they take rewards or exposure but never mention or talk about Hive. When they do they want insane amounts of money typically with little actual audience reach.
Without a doubt we need more influencers but paying for them is extremely expensive. You can easily spend $100K for a mention that results in almost no new investment to Hive. You can also spend $500 and get far more reach if done well. Finding those opportunities is not easy.
Hive recently paid a well know marketing firm a lot of money to market Hive.
