Sometimes it's better to make your own path. There is safety in the herd, but there are real gains to be made by doing something different. It's not the easiest path, but the rewards are much greater.
Much of the US stock market is in ETFs right now which means when things are going well, they really go well. However, when liquidity dries up, there are no buyers, and things go south then all bets are off regarding how low things can go.
Investing in silver and gold isn't popular with most of the mainstream. Some people can't even comprehend the idea of physically owning the metals. There's no leverage there. What they miss is that the assets are under-priced right now. They're also a real insurance policy against the inflation that will be coming soon.
People are free to make their own choices, but I'm free to make my own too. And I'd rather risk failure being myself than experience mediocre success being just like everyone else.
