Phew, I have been missing in action for no reason other than inaction ... The cryptocurrency scene is moving so fast that one goes down rabbit holes for hours without achieving anything except maybe a slight bit of clarity on a technology... and then a new project distracts one... and back into the rabbit warren.

Back to the crypto scene... Decentralised Finance (DeFi) and Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) are truly driving this cycle ... but to my mind these developments are exposing the weakness in the Ethereum platform as demand escalates. Ridiculous transaction costs, slow response when sharp market moves happen... resulting in many liquidations as investors cannot balance their holdings.
I used Uniswap for a small transaction ... the gas fees were in excess of $40's ...so a $60 investment (in this case read gamble ...as I purchased $UFO) turned out to cost $100.
Solana ($SOL) is an interesting project which may yet usurp ETH in the next decade should ETH 2.0 not launch soon... but I found it rather complex to use. Definitely a rabbit hole I need to go down...
