Centralized platform love to play "catch-up". They see an idea developing and thriving in the DeFi space, or semi DeFi/CeFi space and want to get aboard the hype train. Of course it will catch some of the less tech savvy people napping. They've heard of NFT's, that people make money minting and selling them, so they will fall for these Meta tricks. Basically everything meta touches is straight garbage, but make no mistake; at least on launch - people will buy in. Not smart people, but people.
