I think you and I would have fun shopping together. I don't care for the expensive brands $$$, either, and prefer my own unique style to anything the trends are showing. In my part of the world, we have what are called "thrift shops" that are usually run by a charity — non-profits that assist battered women, orphanages, hospice houses, or some similar mission. The goods that are sold there are donated when people clean their closets, or are moving, and the proceeds of the sales go straight to the charity that runs the shop. I like shopping the charity-run thrift shops because:
I don't even go shopping for clothes as often as a couple times each year; it's usually once every two years, unless I need something! I'm still wearing clothes I bought 10, 20, or 30 years ago, I just rotate them when I get tired of them and bring them from the back of the closet a few years later. 😂
