Greetings everyone,

It has been a long time since Zombie Death was one of the most overpowered decks in gods unchained, the time where it was one of the mostly played and effective decks in the game back when there was less cards and less sets. Back then I played it a couple times yet not very much being a bit far from the Death god!

However, I have decided to try it yet again now because I wanted to switch up decks a little bit, and see if it is still viable and good and can get you a hefty amount of wins in mythic or not! Now the deck that I tried had nothing expensive, nothing fancy, just regular good old fashioned zombie death!

So let us see together how did the deck perform, and what is the deck consisted of.

The Deck

So this deck is very classic and old fashioned with exactly the same cards that were being used when the deck was just discovered and being played. And I go to say I did not expect it to work at all in mythic, especially with the big amount of answers that you can find for relic currently, but it did work out pretty well. Not thatt good but pretty decent as shown here:

Matchups Results

I tried the deck in 13 games and I was able to get 7/13 wins which is more than I expected to be honest! I got matched up against a lot of war and did pretty well against them! The hard matchups usually were nature and deception for the big amount of answers for my board control!

Now there are some cards that I felt were good to be added to the deck that can help it a lot so let us see what those cards are:

Cheap cards to add

Now I categorized those cards into cheap and expensive to make it easier and for both free to play or non free to play players. But of course the more expensive ones can take the deck to a whole new levels, although the cheap one can be a big help too!

Guild Enforcer

Despite Blade being present quite a lot in Mythic, this card still helps a lot in many scenarios where Blade is not present, it can help you take back board control again or stop your opponent from building his board further.

Cursed and Skeletal Hoplite

Those two cards can help with the board control in this deck especially with their armor, you might get to clear something for your opponent without sacrficing them which can help build board further!

Vanguard Axewoman

Despite Blight Bomb being present to clear out creatures, sometimes you might need that extra small clear early game too to establish dominance and not let your opponent strenghten his board further and I felt like this card would have helped in many situations if I had it!

Expensive Cards to add

Now these cards might sound a bit too obvious to add, but some of you might think that they do not work well with this deck or can not synchronise much, but I still think they do!

Blade of Whiteplain

You can never go wrong with this one in my opinion! It can help so much with board control and card draws and clear out annpying obstacles which you might face a lot! Definitely still fits here if you own it and a big help!

Martyr of Whiteplain

This one too is still a big help in my opinion for this deck! It can bring you back good creatures to your hand, help with board early on and protect your Cursed Obelisk very well and help establish a board full of zombies and creatures!

Final Thoughts

To be honest at first when I tried playing the deck again, I expected to be ruined and lose a lot because I did not expect just such plain good old fashioned zombie deck to be still working with all these new cards in game but it did!

Now I will probably not be trying it out in weekend event because I also still was not very familiar and capable with it, plus it has some pretty annoying matchups where it is almost impossible to win! But I must say it was so fun to try it out again and go back to the golden days of Divine Order! So if you ever feel like you want to switch out decks and just enjoy the game, definitely do go back to zombie death!
You can play the cheap version too which is pretty effective, although the cards I mentioned can take it to a different level in my opinion!

So that was it for this one, hope you like it all, if you did be sure to drop a follow I appreciate all the support and upvotes I get and I hope everyone is enjoying this game you can always reach up to me and ask me about anything I might be able to help with converning the game! Take care all and I will see you on the next one!

Mad Love, Peace out <3
