You have an interesting writing style, and your creative nonfiction story is very compelling, walindo@walindo.

We'd like to remind you of a few things, as you are still new to The Ink Well.

  1. We are a short story community. This means that whether you are writing fictional stories or creative nonfiction stories, we are looking for storytelling elements such as a storyline (what happened, and to whom, and how did it turn out), as well as character development, a conflict and a resolution. (You did include dialogue, which is great. It is an important part of storytelling.) You can read more about creative nonfiction stories here.
  2. In The Ink Well, we only accept short stories, which are completely self-contained with a beginning, middle and end. This means they must not be part of a series, for example, or "chapters."
  3. We require everyone who posts in our community to engage with other writers. We ask every member to read and comment on the work of at least two other community members for each story posted.

Thank you.

p.s. You're a good writer. We look forward to reading more of your work. We do have some great tips on overall storytelling in our catalog of fiction writing tips.
