Hi Adese. Thank you for sharing your interesting story in The Ink Well. We have some tips and comments for you.
First, this seems to be a "creative nonfiction" story — told from your real-life experience — instead of a fictional story, which is one that you make up from your imagination. Can you confirm whether this is fiction or creative nonfiction? You can learn more about the difference in our article on creative nonfiction.
Note: We provide weekly prompts for both fiction and creative nonfiction. Please be sure to write only fiction for the fiction prompt and only creative nonfiction for the creative nonfiction prompt, and use the correct tags - #fiction or #creativenonfiction.
Second, we have told you multiple times that you are not using the word "faithful" correctly. The expression is "fateful day." It is about fate, not faith. Can you please correct this now and in future stories? (Note that when we provide guidance that is not heeded or followed, it affects the amount of curation you receive from our team.) Here is a screenshot of your second paragraph.
The third tip is about language and translation. You use Pidgin English often in your story, which is a nice addition that adds authenticity. However, many of us around the world do not speak this dialect. Please be sure to provide the translation in parentheses after each instance of Pidgin English so everyone knows what the characters are saying.
Thank you. Good luck and keep writing.
