I definitely see the appeal of a gold backed currency, but the logistics of pulling that off in today’s world seem insane. Trust in money is such a weird thing, it’s like everyone just collectively agrees it has value until they don’t. The whole paper dollars becoming king for a while part makes sense, though. It’s like when there’s a blackout and suddenly cash is way more useful than credit cards
