Although I wasn't nominated, I was inspired to make this because of valth@valth 's post which I found intriguing enough to follow in his footsteps. I had never heard about this before, but from what I understand, the goal is to talk about who you are and why you choose the name that you did for your Steemit account. So, without further ado...

When I first started Steemit, I wasn't really sure what I was planning on doing with it. I was originally attracted to it from one of Vincent Briatore's videos on it on Youtube. He had this idea to try to make a community that would essentially upvote each other, but as we quickly found out, that's easier said than done. My main goal was to make money on the platform and I was willing to try anything to make it work out, but as I saw the Vincentb folk fall off the face of the Earth because none of us had any voting power, I had a decision to make... was I going to keep it up like it was intended, or jump ship like the rest of them... well, as you probably figured out, I'm still here, but that's because I understand that this platform is still in it's early stages... So I made the choice to make a daily post and try my damnest to make them count, because I know that the only way to make anything of my account is to provide some kind of value.... as for the name...

I chose @Thegreatlife because I always hear people talking about the so-called "good life," but that doesn't sound as exciting as everyone makes it out to be. I mean, when you say "Hello, how are you doing today," you get a very different impression from someone when they respond with "Great," than "Good." I don't want a good life....that's mediocre. I want an incredible life, but as not to be over-dramatic, I chose "great" instead.

My real name is Adam, but I mentioned that from the very beginning. I have blogged for years and have made music and videos for a little while too. I'm always working on educating myself and trying out new things. I am really glad that I kept up here on Steemit, because it has kept me honest in other things. Because I need content, I have organized some of the stuff that I may not have done otherwise. I wanted to make videos again on YouTube, but I kept getting concerned about the logistics of it all. Here, however, I feel that I can just freely post and it's no big deal if it isn't the world's best post. This platform allows me to create stuff that I don't think too deeply into, which will be one of the greatest things for my progress.

Well, I don't have an aweful lot more to say about this topic, but I figured I'd do it for fun. ..as I look at that little picture that I altered at the beginning of this post, I think I might make it a part of my outro ...hmm. who knows. Well, Take care and thanks for stopping by!
