Glitch the master ball then off to Saffron gym!
This is a play through of Pokemon Blue by using RetroArch to emulate the game. I am randomising the Pokemon in areas with similar strength so it isn't completely randomised, while choosing three starters of similar types
With the master ball in the bag and eager to duplicate it, Goliath was back to the Seafoam Islands to find a glitch Pokemon that could help out.. but got a tough Cloyster instead, something that was going to do a number on his party Pokemon.
The first Pokemon to end up fainting was the Golduck and it did not get too much damage done, to weaken this damn Cloyster.
Muk was the next up with the hopes it could do the thunderbolt damage while having higher evasion from minimise, this did not end up working out at all and it was only a little more damage done.
Enough was enough though and no more Pokemon were to be lost!
When Venomoth came out as the third choice, it was straight onto using the ultra balls to try catch the Cloyster and after one failing and then Venomoth coming close to fainting, the next ultra ball managed to catch the Cloyster.
After catching the Cloyster it was then a glitch Pokemon that had appeared and at the right time. Moltres was out but was not needed.. it was just time to run away since the battle wasn't required and this way, the master ball was able to be glitched up no worries, then heading back to Saffron city so Golduck can be replaced with the new Cloyster, if the moves were all what was wanted.
Upon checking the moves Cloyster has in full we see the clamp and spike cannon which helped bring down Goliath's Pokemon, but aurora beam was a bigger move for damage and supersonic for that confusion to help in battle. No doubt this is a good choice to replace Golduck since clamp is like wrap in that it stops a Pokemon using a move!
Now that the party is ready to fight and is looking mighty strong for the next gym, it was time to go face the Saffron city gym and whatever awaits there. Goliath realises he has yet to face the Cinnabar gym but of course, that can come as the next one.
First psychic trainer for Saffron gym had a few Pokemon with the main one with any strength, being the Electabuzz, but Muk's level was just too high and sludge was too strong of a move to allow Muk to take any damage in this fight.
The next fight was cooler to be in and the opponent had four Pokemon including Kadabra, a Grimer, then there was a Kingler and Dodrio.
Dragonite got to destroy the Kingler with its hyper beam that was so destructive, an easy fight was had and once Dodrio came out, ice beam was more than enough to take that out as well.
There were some more fights happening throughout while the way to Sabrina the gym leader was found by way of trialing the teleporters and facing some Pokemon like a Golem that only needed a Blastoise hydro pump to take it out and a Snorlax requiring two uses of psychic to take it down.
Finally it was time to face off against Sabrina.. definitely stronger Pokemon and the Arbok or the Seaking could have done some damage if their levels were only fourty five or so, but they weren't and psychic took out Arbok, while mega drain took out the the Seaking with ease.
With this it was the final Pokemon to face, a Charizard which was a better level and got a slash off which did a bit of damage to Blastoise, before the hydro pump was giving Charizard a run for its money and take it down and see Sabrina defeated!
Emulator used: RetroArch with a Gameboy Colour core
ROMS: Pokemon Blue after being put through the randomiser
Saving: (Used for quick loading and for getting back to before I had all Pokemon faint, if I lose and so it is quicker.)
