Making the tough even tougher
For this adventure it was decided that my level 4 heroes would be taken through for a run in a level 3 dungeon. This dungeon would be a long, complete 100% room battles mission which would take a while and many resources prepared. But it was found to be a tougher adventure this time around and it tried the mental might of our party.
Preparing the heroes in the correct position in the team, plus the high amount of resources to be taken.
When it began and the first fight was started it felt like a normal run with some more common enemies that you would face off against in this dungeon. But the second fight brought in another, bigger creature to really start bringing in some hurt early on. A Slavering Ghoul with higher health and a little more deadly than the first fight yet still easy to beat without much hassle which was a relief.
After some time passed, rooms got cleared and explored and the heroes had their first rest to recover from previous fights and prepare for the next part of the dungeon. Camping skills helped to relieve some stress, boost one heroes power for a few rounds and sleep, only to find they were rudely interrupted.....
An ambush from enemies while they rested and a dark room for the fight to affect the battle. Luckily it wasn't too difficult with healing from the Occultist. But an affliction was put onto the grave robber during this fight.
A brush with death
Our grave robber had her brush with death a couple of times by being on death's door in two battles. She got blessed with good karma though as living through some attacks with no heart attack leading to death, while getting healed up by our Occultist and sticking in for the long run and until the end of the dungeon. It is a tough and worrisome time if a hero hits death's door and you pray for a good result, anytime it happens.
Making it to the end
As the heroes finish off the final enemies in the last room, they collect the treasure and leave to go back to Hamlet. Once in Hamlet they rest up to relieve their stress as needed due to high levels occurred throughout the adventure, to prepare for the next time they are needed.
I feel lucky to have gotten away with all 4 heroes in tact after those close encounters. Lower level heroes need to be leveled up next so I have backups in case some die which will be devastating, but a necessary loss to experience the cruel fates of Darkest Dungeon!
