Battling
In this video I bring you four battles in ranked with three wins and then a loss (as I was messing around with my lineup and it wasn't how I wanted it).
What you will see is a sped up version (in Sony Vegas) as I had not made the battles sped up themselves, but it shows off a variety of monsters including their abilities/attacks, a variety of the different colours, as well as how the battles perform in general.
You have your front line or your first creature which is melee range and what should be a stronger, longer lasting creature. Then from the innermost creature to your summoner picture, they pop in to the front when your front liner has died. The rest are your back line which will be for ranged and magic creatures, or weaker ones which can be hit with snipe creatures.
Thoughts so far
I really enjoy the battling system so far and it has been done well. Using strategy is important and so is the mana cap. Just because someone has gold/high level monsters, doesn't mean you cannot beat them. Better creatures means more mana cost which reduces how many they can have, whereas you can have more creatures but use strategy to beat them.
I have gotten use to how to do my lineup now which was slightly re-done and managed to get me to a little under 400 ranked points, quite a nice effort in the day or two I was playing.
Of course it still needs tweaking/modifying for balancing and overall better game-play for all but I think it is well in the right direction and the tournaments are going to be so intense, when they come!
