I am also writing a sci fi/fantasy novel and will share content here. It is centered heavily around the theme of individual liberty and freedom set in the future after humans have been enslaved by an alien race known as the Luciferians.
The Story is centered around a young American named Ari set in 2075. Each month the Luciferians hold arena fights much like the Gladitors of Rome.
The 4 prominent Lucfierian royal families each train and fight human warriors and Luciferians from all over come and watch them do battle.
They fight to the death and each weight class has a champion. Each Champion is granted more freedoms than the other humans. Ari has always wanted to be a fighter but his mother and father are kitchen workers and he assigned to be a kitchen worker like them.
Events will transpire that will allow him to chase his dreams, but at what cost.
