Generally I don't enjoy going to government buildings in Thailand, as it usually involves solemn characters who can choose whether you will get your documents for a visa, work permit etc and it depends on what mood they are in. This building is an exception, we went to collect a tax return from this building and the mood was really quite upbeat!
We went in the lift to the thirteenth floor and on this occasion there was no bad luck in sight. All the workers were in high spirits, as they were the providers handing money back to the public. They also had some sort of exercise regime set up for the workers. While I was waiting for my wife and son collecting some money, some techno music started playing and a large portion of the employees stood up and were swinging there arms and legs. They continued to do so until after we had collected our cash and left the tax return office. It wasn't an everyday occurrence and I wonder how often the employees have to do it? We can always check again next year when we go for our next return! Maybe they'll have a whole new routine!
