This shot was taken on a pedestrian footbridge on the Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. The road is the main road which leads through the newer area of the city centre and most of the time the Explorer family are sat stuck in traffic along this road. But on this occasion we were walking and the pedestrian footbridge provided us with a nice view of the Sun setting.
The silhouette in this shot is of a brand new International school campus for Secondary/High School students at a school called St. Andrews, which is a British international school. It is a little bit of a strange set up as it used to be a different school and due to regulations of the handover, the campus still houses a section for the old school Srivrikorn, so the campus has two schools in one! I think this is just until the end of the academic year, but a little strange having students from two different styles of school on one campus! Anyhow it provided a great view to watch the Sun say good bye for another day! That big cage you can see on the left of the photo is a driving range, which I think is pretty cool to have slap bang in the middle of the city!
If I had spun 180 the view would've been of the skytrain track, the road, buses, cars and crazy amounts of motorbikes weaving through the traffic with many a near miss on the way.
Thank you so much for checking out my post, if you enjoyed this and would like to see more photos and travels in Thailand feel free to swing by my page when you have a moment free.
