If you've ever visited Bangkok, you are probably aware that it's notorious for traffic jams and if you live here it's a way of life! Well it was no exception during the moment I took this shot either. There are a few ways to escape the gridlocked traffic jams, but they aren't always fool-proof either. You can take the underground train, or the skytrain, but these tracks don't cover enough of the city and at peak hours between 6-9 am and 5-8 pm the trains are packed like sardines! The other option is to use the toll ways, if travelling by a motor vehicle, the toll ways are elevated roads which go over the top of the main roads below. But on this occasion we took the toll way and were soon stuck in traffic on there too!

As they say 'Every cloud has a silver lining' and upon this occasion the golden shimmering Sun caught my eye, so I quickly opened the window and started snapping! Most of the shots were blocked by other cars, lorries and trucks, but one free moment did arise when the traffic moved forward about 20 metres!

The grid separating the Sun reminded me of how I am separated from the true beauty of Thailand and the reason I fell in love with this wonderful country! The surrounding countryside is so beautiful and there are endless places to visit, but I am stuck in smog ridden, concrete jungle of Bangkok! This traffic jam provided me with a wake up call - 'I need to move to another location in The LAnd of Smiles', so when my contract is finished next year I will see if I can find a more scenic place for the Explorer family to set up base camp!

Thank you so much for checking out my photo, if you enjoyed this and would like to see more photos, or travels in Thailand feel free to swing by my page when you have a moment free.

Peace Out Steemians

Never stop exploring!
