Aside from being known for its white sand beach and breathtaking sunset views in the afternoon, Boracay is also known for being the best place to relax, forget about your worries, and be astounded by the beauty of the island. Your vacation in Boracay is not complete without witnessing the most beautiful sunset the island has to offer.
During our recent visit to Boracay, we participated in the Paraw Sailing activity, which is a local sail boat activity. It is a must-do activity while visiting Boracay. A traditional way of sailing and seeing the island in a other way of perspective, as well as the sunset. For Paraw Sailing, the cost is 700 pesos (about 14 dollars) per person. You can do it at any time of the day, but it is most recommended that you do it in the afternoon to take advantage of the spectacular and breathtaking sunset in Boracay.
Our call time for the activity is at 4:30pm, but as to the kuya who are assisting us, we will begin our activity around 5pm in order to truly see the sunset. We're just taking pictures and chilling at Station 1 while we wait. The boat can carry up to 8 passengers, but in our case, the other people who want to use it prefer that there be only two people on each side. We were very concerned because the clouds were dark and the sun might not be visible that day. We really wanted to do something on our last day before returning to Cebu, and yes, we did see the best sunset during our stay.
Kuya called up us and instructed us to proceed to the boat. The boat will be operated by a crew of three people. Following that, it begins sailing immediately. We were a little nervous at first because the waves were so large, but the operators made sure we were safe. This activity will take between 30 and 45 minutes. They are a lot of tourists availed the activity, too.
One of the three operators approached us and offered to film and photograph us. Kuya is a professional photographer who knows how to take a beautiful photograph and will give you tips on how to pose and what to do. Hahaha. Behind our smiles, however, are concerns about what might happen if we were to fall into the ocean. Hahaha. However, because of the operators, all of our activities are safe.
We simply sat back and marveled at the stunning sunset and the glistening blue waters of the sea. We adore sunsets because they remind us that every chapter ends on a high note and pave the way for a fresh beginning.
