As for why SM platforms act when someone tells them an account is compromised: they provide the platform for money. That money comes from interactions and hacked accounts deliver MORE interactions than a legit one. So they don't really care about your reputation and the scammed users.
And this is a calculated risk in their reports. They don't simply unaware, they ran the numbers and decided they won't do anything because that's the better tactic for a bigger profit.
