Who am I kidding? I know only how you say "shit" in Italian - long life to google translate.
Anyway, I have been missing for a while due to a short trip in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. It was planned as a long weekend holiday which turned out to be longer due to the heavy snow and earthquakes. All photos are random and they were taken before the mother nature raised its hands and decided to set free its fury - and what a fury it was! But, later on about this.
I know this photo is "meh" but: I took this photo almost before sunrise and it's the Airport of Rinas field. More than 10 flights canceled, incoming and outgoing. For god sake, there was just 1 cm of icy snow... They had the machines to fix everything although they started using equipment quite late. The unlucky customers of Blue Panorama, I doubt they received some kind of refunding - I am not sure really, whatever law EU has about plane customer rights, they are not applicable for Albania. My plane left after 6 hours of waiting. At least, I left, right?
There is something about Italy and its cities, in general. Sometimes, I swear I feel like I smell pizza everywhere I go. Just kidding. A very typical old Italian road, narrow and long.
It was a sunny (and only) day and we decided to visit the main square of Ascoli Piceno City. The photos below are taken in Piazza Del Popolo. It's a small square but worth visiting.
My favorite part of Italy is its shutters. They are quite aesthetic although I can ensure you they don't stop the wind blowing its way to your room.
Piazza del Popolo offers quite an interesting view about Italian architecture. It's all about details. You can spend hours simply watching a building.
Oh, this bar. By the way, anisetta is a typical alcoholic drink from Ascoli Piceno. Its taste is a mixture of Greek ouzo, grappa and a bit too sweet for my taste. Just so you know, in this bar there was a movie recorded "Alfredo Alfredo" with the main actor, Dustin Hoffman.
Another square in Ascoli Piceno. Because it was Saturday, there were local producers (mostly clothes, shoes) selling with low prices.
Bonus photo. In so many years of relationship with my bf, that's actually the first time he took a decent photo of me. Probably, because he felt like home (Ascoli is his hometown, after all) and was more comfortable? Who knows? The next 15 picture were scary - deleted immediately.
There are more pictures to come. Stay tuned. Though, due to very personal reasons, we have to get back to Italy.
Meanwhile, keep on steeming.
