馃樁 it doesn't matter how much to downgrade or upgrade as long as you try to use firebase web setup on expo this error will persist you might make normal request to fetch data from firebase and it will even return empty data or error , I faced this issue while building a chat app
Switch to dev-client build setup and install firebase the way you would In CLI setup
