There are a lot of public museums and private one's as well. To get into a private one often you need to be invited by the owner, so good luck going to those! There are a lot of public options out there in big cities though, Los Angeles has some nice one's. But traffic and parking are such a nightmare that I hate going into LA. I live in Orange County which is to the south of the city.
