That is very true! Portugal had control of Macau for a very long time just as he UK had Hong Kong. Hong Kong in recent years has seen their special status being slowly revoked by the CCP. I hope the same isn't happening in Macau. It certainly almost a country unto itself, and it's a shame they didn't go independent instead of joining China... But I don't think there was an option!
