They probably copied the old plans, why pay someone to make new ones? Pretty cool toy, I never had one as a kid as I was an older teenager at the time in the late eighties. Those old toys carry a huge premium these days, someday that new one may be valuable too. But for now your son will have some fun with it I'm sure!
