Well, our dry spell is coming to an end today, so it’s lawnmower time at the home place.

First up, the front…

The big, heavy old petrol push mower does have a ‘self propelled’ function, which I’ve never used, though I know it burns a lot of fuel. If I engaged it, the front alone would have used a full tank, so I choose to burn calories with my internal engine instead.

Next for a trim was the side…

Of course, as soon as you feel like you have a handle on one aspect of things, you notice more work to be done; that metal gate in the background is showing quite a lot of rust, so that’ll need sanding and painting soon. Not happening today though!

Onwards, to the back!

And the soon to be vegetable garden, where I mowed a roughly 12’ by 18’ (4m x 6m) patch and a path to get there. This was heavy going, and I even thought about engaging the propelled function on the mower, but stuck with the ‘this makes a good workout’ approach.

All the grass cuttings from the back went onto the veg patch to-be; hopefully it’ll suppress the growth of grass and weeds for a week or 2 until I can get the beds made and some plants in the ground.

Overall, I think my Fluffy overlord is satisfied with my mornings work. Or at least she’s happy that it’s time for some cuddles 😃🐈
