A winter hike around the Traunfall!
As I have told you in one of my latest posts, temperatures are currently really low in Austria. On the one hand, this is obviously quite annoying when looking at the bad impacts it has on soccer preseason. But on the other hand, the extreme cold leads to some beautiful scenes in the nature.
Wie ich euch zuletzt bereits erzählt habe, werden wir aktuell von einer extremen Kältewelle heimgesucht. Im Bezug auf die Fußball-Vorbereitung für die Rückrunde ist das zwar ziemlich nervig - dafür führen die niedrigen Temperaturen aber zu einigen spektakulären Bildern in der Natur.

Auch heute habe ich wieder einen thematisch passenden Song als Begleitung zu den Bildern rausgesucht.
Now we can get started! Today we are gonna visit some beautiful waterfalls formed by the river Traun.
Jetzt können wir loslegen! Heute besuchen wir ein paar wunderschöne Wasserfälle des Flusses Traun.
After parking our car, we have to walk over a huge bridge - A look down only gives a little glance at what is about to come. Or would you have guessed that you actually can see a 200 meter wide and up to 12m high waterfall on this picture?
Nachdem das Auto geparkt wurde, geht es über eine gigantische Brücke - Ein Blick nach unten deutet nur leicht an, was uns noch alles erwart. Oder würdet ihr auf diesem Bild einen 200 Meter breiten und bis zu 12 Meter hohen Wasserfall vermuten?
As soon as we have walked down to the river at the other side, the beauty arises in front of us.
Sobald wir auf der anderen Flusseite absteigen, baut sich diese magische Kulisse vor uns auf.
However that is only the first part. After a walk of about 200 meters, we reach this place which marks the end of the waterfall.
Das war aber erst der Anfang. Nach weiteren 200 Metern erreichen wir an diesem Punkt das Ende des Wasserfalls.
If we turn to our right, we can look back all the way to the beginning of the waterfall.
Wenn wir uns nach rechts drehen, sehen wir bis an den Anfang des Wasserfalls zurück.
On the left side, we can see how the river Traun continues.
Links sehen wir, wie die Traun weiterverläuft.
The most beautiful view however is the one straight ahead. The ice just looks so beautiful. If it wasn't that cold, I would love to swim down there right now.
Das schönste Bild bietet sich einem jedoch bei geradem Blick. Unglaublich, wie schön die Eissäulen sind. Wäre es nicht so kalt, würde ich sofort ins Wasser springen!
But it obviously was way to cold for that! Even the air was so cold, that I had to walk back after a few minutes. This time I took the different side of the bridge - That's how it looks if you look down there.
Aber dafür war es natürlich viel zu kalt. Da auch die Luft sehr frostig war, machte ich mich baldigst auf den Rückweg. Diesmal nahm ich die andere Brückenseite - so sieht es von dort oben aus.
But wait! What is this weird construction good for?
Halt, stopp! Wofür ist diese komische Konstruktion gut?
And what do I prefer to eat after a visit at the Traunfall before driving back home?
Und was esse ich nach einem Ausflug zum Traunfall gerne, bevor ich heimfahre?

After seeing the above pictures you probably must have thought that it is an awesome place for swimming in the summer? Well it can be! But it can also look like this!
Nach den obigen Bildern habt ihr euch sicherlich gedacht, dass es dort im Sommer sicherlich nett zum Baden sein muss? Stimmt auch! Es kann aber auch so aussehen!
