I have been researching for a few weeks into which blockchain music platform to use (not sure if any are operating yet), however to me it seems they may create the same problem they are trying to solve, a single central database for music copyright and licensing.
I have come across a few options so far, including muse, ujo and zimrii, and i have read that spotify, as well as a major record company collaboration are all creating a database, independent of each other.
Maybe it won't matter if they can all play nice.
Im asking here because most of you know more about this crypto stuff than me, and i wanna get back to making music to entertain you. Distribution options and legals have been taking up too much time lately.
Which platform or method do you think would be best for an independent musician/artist?
Happy to learn if you know more, and if there are better options please let me know, i think i saw something about steem music streaming when i first looked into steemit. (any links to older post appreciated, i may be a bit behind with this)
Im also trying ascribe as a timestamp for copyright, and tracing digital art online
Is all this overkill? or do you think this protection is necessary for artists?
Im not to sure about all this and want to see what other artists and musicians think too.
Thanks
