Gorilla Glue #4
I've got several strains to review. I thought I'd start with this Gorilla Glue #4. This was a pleasant surprise at just a little under $5 a gram. 1/8 of an ounce was $17.00 USD. So far, this has been the best strain in this price range.
The dispensary had both bulk cannabis in mason jars and many pre-packaged strains. I liked the packaging of this one and I also seen another review online that spoke highly of it. I can confirm, the pre-packaged Gorilla Glue #4 is a great product, especially in this price range. As a matter of fact, well opinion actually, but this is probably one of the nicest strains I've experienced in this price range thus far.
So I loved the packaging, but I already said that.The bag appears to be made out of some type of mylar. You rip off the top of the bag, and it has a ziploc inside to maintain freshness. The flower itself is very fragrant. Sticking my nose in the bag I'm immediately hit with a very citrusy and fruity fragrance. There is that very faint hint of ammonia which can occur during the curing process or when packaging before being completely dry. Honestly, very faint. A lot of people might not even notice it.
The buds themselves aren't super dense. Most of the buds are nickel and dime sized with a kind of light and stringy texture with an almost fluorescent green color in the right light. Looking carefully you can see some very light crystallization on each bud.
Hits nice and smooth out of my glass pipe with a nice dense smoke on the exhale.Nutty with hints of pine. Never really harsh and not a lot of coughing. I like that!
Final Thoughts
In the $5 a gram range this is pretty potent stuff. The high is relaxing and calm. It's not at all loud or in your face. A few hits relaxes you, a little more and you can get yourself good and goofy. It often gives me the giggles.I do love weed that makes you giggle and I find myself giggling often on this stuff. If you like the giggles, this offers lots of those!
I am not sure whether this is an Indica or a Sativa, but if I had to guess I'd lean towards Sativa. I'm going to have to start paying attention when I'm at the dispensary. As relaxing as it is, the buzz is a little more spacey and very energetic. The come down is actually pretty decent as well, with not a lot of burnout.
Not medical advice but if you use weed for insomnia, this probably isn't the strain you're looking for.
Honestly though, this is exactly the type of weed I enjoy. I can take a couple hits and still function. It works great with my backpain and meets most of my other needs. If I want to get really blazed I just have to smoke a little more. The high is there, it's just never super intense unless you want it to be!
With that said, if you come across these $17 eighths you might want to give it a try. I enjoyed this one a lot! Until next time, smoke em if ya got em!
