I really like Standardization and I am often annoyed when it is not a given, like we Germans with our "," for decimals instead of "." or ofc the Americans who still use ounces, feet, cups and sometimes even stone.

I like hive as it is similar to the "everybody just makes his own newspaper"-idea once portrait in the Simpsons. I have an idea for hive that you won't like: State-owned Hive, where every citizen gets one account. I know I know, this goes against everything Crypto stands for but there are some neat benefits: You could support a variety of social projects via the platform or literally every person in your country directly through the platform, you could defund projects that you deem harmful to society.

Also this could be a good option for hive in general: Direct votes on users, maybe with a once a week cooldown. I hear many people who say they vote on people not on content and while this has downsides I think it is a legitimate reason to vote. On the other hand: Do you want to force people to post? I think it is a good exercise for everybody, yes, but I think it is also valid to start by just consuming content for a while, maybe comment here and there and wait, before making a post. Or just have the feeling that they need some time away from the platform like I did in the past.

I just remembered. Sorry for not telling you directly about my break. I am not sure how long you delegated me the 1K into my hiatous, but it was money sitting there unused and that is a shame.
