Every month when I'm paid I'm reminded that the company doesn't pay me enough for me to actually care about working hard...

I'm earning more or less the same as a house maid, a restaurant worker, and other such jobs that didn't require 3 years of college, plus 3 months of an online course, plus almost 1 year of actual work time. I'm a Software Engineer goddamn!

And the worst part is that no matter how hard I worked, I would still get the same pay increase that everyone does...

Companies need to learn to reward hard workers.

I don't have a girlfriend or kids, I'm able to work from 9am to 11pm everyday of the week if necessary, with only 2h a day to go to the gym, and I would do this haply for a couple of years to earn more, I like what I do!

But I don't do that because I'm not paid enough, if I was being paid at least double of what I'm being paid, I would do it, but like this, hell no...

It's all about the reward! I'm motivated by the wage.
