One of the extracurricular activities that provide benefits to students is scouting activities. This activity is an educational process conducted outside the school environment and outside the family environment in the forms of activities that are interesting, fun, healthy, organized, directional, practical, conducted in the open.

As a school, scout teaches a progressive self-learning process for young people to develop personal self completely, covering aspects of mental, moral, spiritual, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical, both as individuals and as members of society.

In Indonesia, scouting education is under the Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia. Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia (Indonesian Scout Movement) is the national Scouting organization of Indonesia. Scouting was founded in the Dutch East Indies in 1912, and Indonesia became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in 1953. It has 17,103,793 members (as of 2011), making it the world's largest Scout association. Each year August 14 is celebrated as Pramuka Day to honor the organization's first public parade. The name Pramuka was derived from the acronym of "Praja Muda Karana", Sanskrit meaning "young people willing to work".

Scouting activities refer to the basic principles of scouting and scouting methods whose ultimate goal is the formation of character, morals, and good manners. Scout activities have two values, namely the formal value or value of education or the formation of character and material value or practical usefulness value. Meanwhile scouting value for learners is as an interesting game, fun and challenging. For scout leaders, this activity is a form of their devotion. And for the people and the country, scouts are valuable as a tool for youth development and development.

Scout movement is a complement to school education and education in the family. Scouting fills the needs of learners who are unfulfilled by both educational environments. Scouting as a lifelong educational process, using recreational and educational procedures to achieve goals and objectives.

Activities should be felt by learners as something fun, interesting, challenging, and not boring, so that learners will develop in terms of mental stability, physical, knowledge, skills, experience, social, spiritual, and emotional.

Scout education is now a mandatory extracurricular that every student in my school must understand. Every year, our school camps with all the first-year students. In these activities, they are given an understanding of scouting.
