I was interested in the ash water that had been chanted. We also have something similar in our beliefs. An old lady, who is believed to have the ability to cure fevers, usually chants prayers and breathes them into a water bottle. The water is then given to the fever sufferer. Miraculously, after drinking the water, the fever went down.

I can't imagine the smell of an old lady's mouth as she breathed into the water.
